pemaquid riverActivities in support of the MJWA’s goals have three major components. Our water quality monitoring program establishes sound baseline data from which we can monitor future changes in water quality. Our environmental education programs aim to increase understanding of the natural resources of the watershed and the practices that promote compatible and sustainable development. Our new environmental education center will promote stewardship of the  local environmental resources Protection of areas of ecological and scenic value through municipal ordinances and open space programs, which represents the third aspect of our activities.

The MJWA hopes to bring about recognition of the importance of the natural environment to the people and the economy of northeastern Northampton County. You can become a part of this important effort by joining MJWA today.
